Cobbs Bread

Our members bag up the donated bread from Cobs Bakery twice a month for the Sooke Food Bank. This is a service project for our club.

SFRS Community Thrift Store

Our members volunteer in the local thrift store that provides clothes, household goods and items for low prices.

Canada Day

We support The District of Sooke's Canada Day celebrations with the other Lions Clubs in Sooke

Doubles Horseshoe Tournament

Our members participated in a horseshoe tournament in support of Diabetes Canada. While this is not a SHL event, we had 9 members take part and more signed up for next year's event.

Sooke Fall Fair

Our members operate a concession at this venerable, agricultural fall fair.

Sooke Children's Garden Club Scarecrow Contest

We participate in the annual scarecrow contest fundraiser for this wonderful garden club for Sooke youth.

Raffle Calendars on Sale

Sponsored by the 3 Lions Clubs in Sooke, this fundraiser calendar has weekly draws of $50 and a monthly draw for a $500 gift card

Easter Seals Drop Zone

A team from our club rappels down 13 stories to raise funds for children and families with disabilities.

Orange Shirt Day

Our club walks in support of Orange Shirt Day. It is our way of participating in reconciliation efforts.

Winter Clothing Drive

A clothing drive collecting new or gently used warm winter clothing and footwear. These donations are distributed to those in need.

Run for the Cure & Bowling Night Fundraiser

Our members run as a team, the Sooke Bosom Buddies, in the Run for the Cure to raise funds for Breast Cancer. We also participate in a club bowling night fundraiser.

Shop 'til You Drop (S.T.U.D.) Trip to IKEA

A annual shopping trip/fundraiser on a chartered bus for our members and friends.

Alert First Aid Kit Sale

An online fundraiser selling home basic disaster kits, using the promo code sookelions (15% off)

Diabetes Mall Walk

An annual fundraising walk in and around West Shore Mall to raise awareness and funds for Diabetes Canada.

Winter Meat Sale

A fundraiser selling meat & seafood from our friends at B&C Food. Ordered products are delivered to Sooke for easier pick up.

Concession at the All Sooke Arts & Craft Show

Our members operate a concession to raise funds at this busy Christmas Craft Show.

Santa Parade Concession

Our members serve up hot dogs and hot chocolate for the people enjoying the annual Santa Parade

Festival of Trees at SEAPARC

This fundraiser for BC Children's Hospital. Our club curates our own beautifully decorated tree, for which the public is encouraged to explore

Festival of Trees Santa's Gift Shop

Our members collect donated gifts for children & families to shop at this Christmas themed workshop. A fun way to fundraise for BC Children's Hospital.

Christmas Cookies & Cards for Sooke Meals on Wheels

Baking delicious cookies to include with the delivery of meals to Sooke Meals on Wheels clients

Joint Club Tree Chipping and Bottle Drive

Annual tree chipping and bottle drive fundraiser with the three Lions Clubs in Sooke

Coldest night of the Year

Our members walk in this fundraiser for the Sooke Shelter Society which supports people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.

Pink Shirt Day

Our club promotes Pink Shirt to raise awareness about bullying and encourages individuals to stand up against hate and discrimination, while also supporting programs that foster children’s healthy self-esteem. We wear pink on this day.

Lions Club District 19-L Spring Conference

Our members attend and participate in this annual conference highlighting Lions accomplishments, fundraising ideas and goals for the year ahead. We perform a skit and enjoy networking.

Sookarama

Our members have a table at this business expo to share what Sooke Harbourside Lions do and sell tickets to our annual Duck Day Race

Shoreline Cleanup at Whiffin Spit

Our Club supports groups shoreline cleanup events as part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup initiative.

Duck Race

Our Club's biggest event and fundraiser, this annual Duck Day is a free event to attend, with games for the kids and the spectacle of 2900 rubber ducks floating down the river in a race. The public buy tickets for the ducks which come with a corresponding # and the first five ducks to cross the finish line win between $100 - $1000!

EMCS Bursaries

Our Club awards scholarships to eligible students at Edward Milne Community School in Sooke. The Lion Audrey Wilson Bursary and the Lion Pat Moreau Bursary.

Mother's Day Plant Sale

This annual SHL plant and flower fundraiser is a very popular event. The public order the plants and flowers through our club and can pick up their orders in Sooke, in time for Mother's Day. Supported by our friends at Hilltop Gardens.

Tour de Rock Bottle Drive

We have an annual bottle drive to raise funds for Tour de Rock - Cops for Cancer which raises funds for pediatric cancer research and sending children fighting cancer to Camp Goodtimes.

Ball Concession at Art Morris Park

Our members operate a concession at a park where children and adults play a variety of fast ball.

Lions Foundation Dog Guide Walk

Our club supports this organization by a series of fundraisers including the Sooke Walk for Dog Guides, Pups and Pints and Dogs for Donuts.

Sunriver Garage Sale

Our members operate a concession and a small yard sale at this large garage sale event.

Swap and Shop

Our first pop up market/swap n shop fundraiser in a school parking lot. We also operated a bbq concession.

Stuff the Bus

We partner with Sooke Home Hardware and Sooke Lions Club to put on a fundraiser for the Sooke Food Bank. The Sooke Lions also operate a food concession.
